Why certification?

There are different ways to connect with schema therapy. Some will only integrate individual elements of schema therapy into their personal therapy style, others will try to connect more deeply with schema therapy, and some will even strive for an identity as a "schema therapist" or "schema therapist". According to the often quoted motto: "The whole is more than the sum of its parts", schema therapy will only develop its full effectiveness if it is also applied "methodologically". As with many other methods, there is a danger that people call themselves "schema therapists" but do not apply the method consistently. This is especially true for the way the relationship is formed and the use of emotion-activating and -modifying techniques.
